Used Books

One of my favorite places is a bookstore, and used book stores have a special charm all to themselves. I took these pictures of a used bookstore in Old Town Manassas.

Camera: Canon SD 400

Post Processing: I let ZoomBrowserEX (Canon's picture utility) clean them up and I sharpened the interior shot using Unsharp Mask.

Sunset leaving Church

As we were leaving Church tonight there was a pretty sunset, so I snapped a picture of that. There is a little noise in the sky but overall I am happy with this.

Camera: Canon SD 400

Post Processing: I removed some tree tops and the top of a lamp post from the bottom of the image and adjusted the contrast and color a little.

Some reviewers at Tips from the Top Floor (an excellent resource for digital photography) suggested that I warm up the colors and darken the image. Here is the adjusted image:

A Panorama Photo

My church visits a senior home twice a month. On the 3rd Sunday we sing. When we got there tonight our friends were waiting for us and all lined up like a concert (we are not that good). I have been learning about panorama pictures and stitching pictures together to form one. So, I got out my bean bag and set my camera on a piano and took 4 shots. They turned out well.

Post Processing: I stitched them together using Autostitch. I then had to add in detail where the pictures didn't quite match up, crop the whole thing and adjust for lighting. I think it turned out rather well.

I was asked to show the original pictures and the initial stitched version, so here they are:

Autostitch put these 4 together and came up with this:

As you can see by comparing this image to the final, I had to crop it, repair a place where the images didn't exactly meet up, adjust the contract and darken the upper right side.
