The purpose of this blog

Yeah! yet another blog about someone's mundane life. Not really. I would like to become a better photographer (or a real photographer) but I have a long way to go. This blog is a history of that journey.

At this time I only have a Canon SD400 point and shoot (hence the name of the blog). I would like to upgrade some day to a Canon 30D or Nikon D200 with some serious glass (lenses). But, as I am out of work right now that won't happen anytime soon.

But, it is not really the camera that makes the photographer good. It can be a big help and a better camera will have fewer limitations, but a good photographer who knows how to shoot (and a little post processing) can get that "wow" picture with almost anything. So I think my SD400 will be a good tool to learn how to use the elements of good photography and get some good pictures. Or at least that's my theory and until I can afford a better camera that will stay my story. :-)

Oh, and since this is my personal journey (but done in public) you are welcome to visit but I don’t think you will find it very interesting.
